Dumitru Duca has won the “Trojan Horse Award 2019” for his PEMs4Nano poster. Dumitru is a PhD student at the Université de Lille in the group of Prof. Cristian Focsa. He presented the poster at the ETH conference on Combustion Generated Nanoparticles from June 17th until June 20th in Zürich, Switzerland. The award was given by the Swiss Association “Doctors for Environmental Protection”. The name for the award comes from the “Trojan Horse phenomenon” – the transport mechanism of toxic molecules adsorbed on soot particles through the lungs into the human organism.
